Grandfather’s Imagination

I found a wonderful vintage photograph of my grandfather and great aunt when they were very young.  For me, the essence of the photo captures the children as if they are seeing things that the adult could not.  I used this image for a motion graphics class because I wanted to put my own spin on what the kids were imagining. This is a mixed media motion graphic in which the figures are rendered in colored pencil over a vintage stock photo. The glowing, green bunnies are animated in Adobe After Effects.

Together Again! 2023

This is a digital mixed media piece of 3 spectacular women. The base illustration was made with ink and color pencil.

Robinson Family Portrait 2020

This polyptych family portrait was created with watercolor and ink. Each piece refers to each person’s elemental and zodiac sign.

Burdick-Johnson Matriarch 2021

For a final project in a painting class, I created a piece depicting all the women in my extended family. This portrait consists of acrylic paint on three separate two-by-four-foot wooden panels.
